John Corker,
Former CEO of the Australian Pro Bono Centre
John Corker was the Executive Director and CEO of the Australian Pro Bono Centre from January 2004-April 2019. Since stepping down as CEO, John has remained at the Centre as a Consultant.
Previously John was a senior associate with national law firm Clayton Utz, General Counsel for the Australian Broadcasting Authority, Corporate Counsel for Imparja Television in Alice Springs, solicitor at the Central Australian Aboriginal Legal Aid Service and a barrister at the Victorian Bar.
John has been a practising lawyer for over 25 years and obtained his undergraduate degrees from Monash University (B. Ec 1976, LLB 1978) and Masters of Law degree from the University of NSW (LLM) (IT, Media and Communications) 2002.
John is also a Visiting Fellow in the UNSW Law School and member of the faculty’s Law and Social Justice Group. He teaches UNSW post graduate law students in Communications and Media Law.
