Eena Fortun,
Intern
Eena joined the Centre in February 2023 as an intern. She is currently in her second term out of three semesters of law masters studies (with a specialisation in Criminal Justice and Criminology) at UNSW, where this internship counts as a course. Originally from Manila, Philippines, Eena received both her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Juris Doctor (JD) at the University of the Philippines – Diliman. As a requirement to obtain her JD, she worked for a year in the Office of Legal Aid, which does pro bono work for indigent clients, and where she was recognised as a distinguished intern. She passed the Philippine Bar in 2020 and has since practised law in both a large audit firm and a medium-sized law firm. She has practised in the fields of tax, corporate, litigation, labor and intellectual property law. Eena hopes to work as either a litigator or an in-house counsel for a corporation in the Philippines when she resumes her practice.
