Laura Toren,
Policy and Project Officer
On Secondment from Australian Government Solicitor
Laura joined the Centre in October 2022 for a 12-month secondment from Australian Government Solicitor. Formerly, Laura was employed by the New South Wales Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions for over two years, as a graduate and then as a solicitor.
Laura holds a Juris Doctor degree and a Bachelor of Arts with first class Honours in Art History from the University of Sydney, as well as a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the College of Law.
As a student, Laura volunteered at the Redfern Legal Centre and the Inner Sydney Tenants’ Advice and Advocacy Centre. Additionally, Laura has two years’ experience working as a clerk for commercial barristers.
Laura shares the Australian Pro Bono Centre’s commitment to increasing access to justice and furthering the public interest by growing the legal profession’s capacity to provide pro bono legal services.
