Sally Embelton,
Senior Policy and Project Officer
Sally started work at the Centre in March 2019. Prior to joining the Centre, Sally worked for over three years as a litigation lawyer at Australian Government Solicitor.
Hailing originally from Queensland, Sally has many years of experience working and volunteering within the access to justice sector, including at the Refugee and Immigration Legal Service, Caxton Legal Centre, and LawRight in Brisbane. As a university student, Sally interned at the Australian Law Reform Commission and volunteered with the Australian Red Cross. She also has three years of experience working as a law clerk at mid-tier and boutique commercial law firms.
Sally holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Queensland, along with a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice (with commendation) from the Australian National University. She is committed to improving access to justice, and is passionate about her work at the Centre promoting pro bono within the Australian legal profession.
