Sue Mahony,
Senior Policy and Project Officer
On Secondment from Commonwealth Attorney-General’s Department
Sue Mahony has joined the Australian Pro Bono Centre in July 2022 for 12 months on secondment from the Commonwealth Attorney-General’s Department.
Sue has broad experience across a wide range of senior government roles with Attorney-General’s Department and the NSW Government, as well as in the pro bono sector with the Public Interest Advocacy Centre.
Sue has a Bachelor of Law and a Bachelor of Commerce from UNSW, a Masters of Environmental Law and a Graduate Diploma in International Law. She has worked in environmental law for the OECD and the European Commission. She has volunteered for the Centre for Environmental and Human Rights Law (Argentina), the Environmental Law Alliance Worldwide (US) and the Environmental Defenders Office (Australia).
Sue will work with the Centre on our campaign to boost signatories to the Centre’s National Pro Bono Target from in-house government and corporate legal teams, as well as to boost awareness of our work on pro bono work in the climate arena, and with our annual Target reporting.
