Trent Wallace,
Secondee Project and Policy Officer at the Australian Pro Bono Centre
Trent is an Aboriginal (Wongaibon and Palawa) Lawyer who grew up on Darkinjung country (Central Coast). During his studies, Trent was a volunteer at the Central Coast Community Legal Centre, tackling a diverse range of issues from traffic matters to domestic violence. Working with some of the most vulnerable members of society, Trent developed many skills both personally and professionally. He carries client’s stories with him in his pursuit of justice for the marginalised.
Trent is on secondment to the Australian Pro Bono Centre from Australian Government Solicitor. To keep an active role in both places, Trent is involved in the Reconciliation Action Plan working group (AGS/AGD), the National Reconciliation Week activity group (AGS/AGD) and the Equity and Diversity working group (UNSW) to express ideas and visions that come from a person with lived experience. With a focus on matters of the heart as opposed to matters of the purse, Trent continues to strive for positive change.
