On the Pro Bono Case Law page, the Centre provides key Australian case law where the issue of pro bono representation has been considered or commented on by the court.
This has been split in to two sections that cover the issues of the Federal Court Rules that cover pro bono referrals to lawyers by the Court, and costs recovery in pro bono matters. The decisions discussed include:
Due to the unsettled nature of the issue of costs recovery in pro bono matters and the Centre’s ongoing advocacy, we also have a separate page devoted to Recovery of Costs which summarises the issue and discusses the ongoing efforts for law reform.
