ON THE SITE: Board and Advisory Council
In ‘On the Site’ we direct you to information and resources on our website that you may not have seen.
On our Board and Advisory Council page you will find the details of the Centre’s twenty-two Board and Advisory Council Members.
The Members represent views from across the access to justice sector and have a wide range of experience, including working in law firm pro bono practices, pro bono referral organisations, community legal centres, Legal Aid, Indigenous legal organisations, law societies, the Bar, law faculties, the Law Council of Australia, the Australian Law Reform Commission, the Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission and the Commonwealth Attorney-General’s Department.
The Board meets 4-8 times per year and is concerned primarily with governance and strategic direction. The Advisory Council meets once per year, on our Annual Planning Day in November, and provides advice and guidance on the Centre’s planning, including upcoming and potential projects. Board and Advisory Council Members are also called upon individually throughout the year to provide advice and assistance in their areas of expertise.
