On 1 July 2015 Attorney-General Martin Pakula announced changes to the pro bono conditions in the new Victorian Government Legal Services Panel arrangements.
The 3rd National Rural Law and Justice Conference, hosted by the National Rural Law and Justice Alliance, was held at Charles Sturt University in Orange on 3-4 July. Afton Fife, Senior Policy Officer at the Centre, presented on “Pro bono legal services via video conferencing: opportunities and challenges.”
There have been two significant developments for the Centre’s National Pro Bono Professional Indemnity Insurance Scheme in the ACT and NSW.

The filmmakers of a new documentary, Call Me Dad, are forging alliances to create a powerful social impact campaign on family violence. The filmmakers would like to engage with the legal community to facilitate screenings of the film.

On 17 June 2015 the National Pro Bono Resource Centre officially changed its name to the Australian Pro Bono Centre. The Centre’s new name and visual identity were launched by Phillip Cornwell at the 2015 National Access to Justice and Pro Bono Conference.
The 5th National Access to Justice and Pro Bono conference was held from 18-19 June in Sydney. The conference focused on the legacy of the Magna Carta on its 800th anniversary.
This was the question explored by a panel of pro bono leaders at the Pro Bono Pipeline session of the Conference chaired by the Centre’s Director, John Corker.
The results of the 2nd Annual Census of the CLC sector indicate a rise in the number of pro bono hours provided by firms though pro bono partnerships.
