It provides an opportunity to celebrate the pro bono work undertaken by the Australian legal profession. On this day Walks for Justice are held simultaneously across the country to support and raise funds for local pro bono referral organisations.
This year, Walks for Justice were held in various locations in Queensland, South Australia, Victoria and Western Australia on 16 May 2017.

The first Walk was held in 2008, inspired by the London Legal Walk in the United Kingdom, which raises money for the London Legal Support Trust.
