Social Justice Opportunities
Social Justice Opportunities is a regularly updated social justice careers website run by the Centre. It aims to help law students and early-career lawyers embark on a social justice career and/or get involved in volunteering. We list available paid and volunteer opportunities for early-career lawyers, including positions suitable for law students, PLT students, law graduates, and lawyers with up to 5 years of post-admission experience.
To be kept up to date with all the latest opportunities, you can visit the website, or:
- follow @SJOppson Twitter at twitter.com/SJOpps
- like Social Justice Opportunities on Facebook at facebook.com/SJopps.
Please contact us if you would like to advertise a position on the site.
In addition to the list of opportunities, the website also includes a range of helpful information about how to get involved in social justice:
- at law school
- by volunteering
- when undertaking practical legal training
- when looking for a job
- when undertaking postgraduate study.
Social Justice Opportunities was originally created as a joint project of the Centre and the Australian Law Students Association, with funding from the Law and Justice Foundation of NSW, the Victoria Law Foundation, and the support of many partners (for more history, see here).
Social Justice Opportunities was previously circulated as a paper guide, but we have since transitioned to displaying opportunities and career advice on the website only. A PDF version of the original paper guide can be downloaded for free here. Please note that some of the content of the PDF guide is now out-of-date. For current information you should visit the active website.
